RIP Vine, de videodienst verdwijnt na verlies van 100 miljoen dollar Twitter!
Het is gedaan voor de ooit zo populaire app/videodienst Vine. Twitter, die het sociale netwerk eind 2012 kocht, heeft aangekondigd dat de dienst gaat verdwijnen.
Twitter leidt namelijk grote verliezen, ook al laten de kwartaalcijfers een lichte omzetstijging zien, Twitter staat op een verlies van ruim 100 miljoen dollar
. Er gaan 350 banen verdwijnen en het afstoten van Vine is een van de maatregelen.
Vine zal niet per direct verdwijnen maar in de komende maanden stoppen. Bestaande video's blijven voorlopig nog online. De oprichter van Vine is niet blij met de keuze en adviseert op Twitter andere bedrijven hun onderneming niet te verkopen, omdat je dan geen controle meer hebt over de toekomst van je eigen zaak.
