Murda is in Turkije veroordeeld tot vier jaar en twee maanden cel! Dit maakte zijn advocaat zojuist bekend. Hij zou het gebruik van cannabis aansporen in zijn teksten.

“Ik heb helaas slecht nieuws gekregen” zo meldt Murda zelf. Hij is naar Turkije gevlogen voor de zaak omdat hij in Nederland druk is met opnames van een album.

De zaak gaat dus over enkele songteksten waarin het gebruik van cannabis zou worden aangespoord. Het Turkse OM had vijf tot tien jaar geëist maar dat werd dus 4 jaar.
“Nummers die zijn uitgebracht en miljoenen mensen hebben bereikt. Ik heb deze nummers voor mijn publiek gespeeld tijdens concerten en mijn fans zongen alle woorden mee. We lachten en dansten samen op al deze nummers. Het zijn nummers die ook geliefd zijn bij mensen die geen Turks praten. Deze mensen zijn na het luisteren van mijn muziek Turkse woorden gaan zingen en rappen.”
“De rechter denkt dat mijn dochter het door deze nummers verdient om haar vader vier jaar en twee maanden niet te zien. Hetzelfde geldt voor mijn familie. Ik zal dit nooit begrijpen en het er nooit mee eens zijn. Heel verdrietig.”
Murda gaat in hoger beroep tegen de straf en komt met dit statement:
” Whatsup everybody. Hope everyone is doing good. I just received a phone call from my lawyer because he went to court for me today. Unfortunatly i received bad news. The judge said that I’m guilty and charged me with 4 years and 2 months. There is a lot going on in my head and there are a lot of things that I want to say. I made some songs back in the days. These songs were released and they reached millions of people. I performed these songs for my audience in concerts and my fans sang all the songs with me. We laughed and danced together to all these songs. The songs are also loved by people that don’t speak the Turkish language.
Those people started to sing/rap Turkish words after listening to my music. A beautiful thing that ends up getting such ugly results is a sad thing. The judge thinks that, because of these songs my daughter deserves to grow up without her father for 4 years and 2 months. Same goes for my family. I will never understand or agree with this. Very sad. For the youths that listen to my music, artists in general that want to express themselves freely. The people that want to see me peform these songs. Nobody can ever question how much I love Turkey and how proud I am to be Turkish. All of this is just really sad. I’d like to thank everybody supporting me from the bottom of my heart. I love y’all.
