De familie van Avicii heeft voor het eerst gereageerd na de dood van de dj wereldster in Oman. Dat deden ze in een statement dat op dit moment verspreid wordt door kranten en sites wereldwijd.
In het bericht wordt de doodsoorzaak echter niet genoemd, wél worden o.a. fans bedankt en is de familie dankbaar dat hun privacy ze wordt gegund, ze wensen dat het ook zo blijft.

Thank you for all the initiatives taken to honor Tim, with public gatherings, church bells ringing out his music, tributes at Coachella and moments of silence around the world.
